Texas Commit Dia Bell Named MVP of Elite 11, Joins Quarterback Elite

Dia Bell, a five-star quarterback from American Heritage High School in Florida and a Texas Longhorns commit, has added his name to an elite group of quarterbacks by being named MVP of the 2024 Elite 11 Finals on Thursday at Mira Costa High School.

The Elite 11 camp, launched in 1999, is widely regarded as the premier quarterback competition in the nation. Past MVPs and participants include NFL stars such as Caleb Williams, C.J. Stroud, Tua Tagovailoa, Mark Sanchez, and Matthew Stafford. Bell’s standout performance in Los Angeles places him among that storied list.

Though the award doesn’t guarantee future NFL stardom, it has proven to be a strong indicator of elite talent. Notable NFL quarterbacks like Jayden Daniels, Jared Goff, Jalen Hurts, Trevor Lawrence, Aaron Rodgers, and Bryce Young have all competed in the Elite 11.

Bell becomes the first Texas Longhorns commit to win MVP honors at the event, joining a lineage of former Longhorns who have attended the camp, including Vince Young, Sam Ehlinger, Quinn Ewers, and Maalik Murphy. KJ Lacey, a freshman at Texas, participated in last year’s event.

Ranked the No. 5 quarterback nationally and the No. 3 overall player in Florida for the 2026 class by 247Sports, Bell committed to Texas in June 2024. He is also the son of former NBA veteran Raja Bell.

With his Elite 11 MVP title, Bell has firmly established himself as one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the country—and a name to watch for Longhorns fans.
