Florida Atlantic University will be represented by first-year head coach Zach Kittley, redshirt junior quarterback Caden Veltkamp, and redshirt senior defensive lineman Bryce Langston at the 2025 American Athletic Conference Media Day, set for July 24–25 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to the team website. The trio will preview the Owls’ third season in the AAC and participate in photo and video shoots.
Kittley, 34, becomes the youngest head coach in Division I football as he embarks on his first campaign. Renowned as an architect of the Air Raid offense, he spent seven seasons as an offensive coordinator and play-caller, overseeing the development of two-time NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes II as well as professional quarterbacks Bailey Zappe and Davis Webb. His units averaged 457.3 yards and 34.8 points per game.
Veltkamp transferred to FAU after three seasons at Western Kentucky and exploded in 2024, earning Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year honors with 3,108 passing yards and 32 total touchdowns. He guided the Hilltoppers to an 8-5 record and a Boca Raton Bowl berth, and enters the season with preseason All-AAC Second Team recognition from Phil Steele Magazine and Fourth Team All-AAC honors from Athlon Sports.
Langston, in his second season with the Owls, appeared in all 12 games as a consistent force on the defensive line during the 2024 campaign.
The Owls open the 2025 season at noon on Aug. 30 against Maryland on the Big Ten Network. AAC play begins Sept. 27 when Florida Atlantic hosts Memphis at Flagler Credit Union Stadium.
