Miami’s Daniel Cuvet Named First-Team All-American by D1Baseball

Miami Hurricanes third baseman Daniel Cuvet has added another major accolade to his standout sophomore season, earning First-Team All-American honors from D1Baseball, the outlet announced Thursday.

Cuvet becomes the first Hurricane since pitcher Andrew Walters in 2022 to receive first-team recognition from the publication. The honor marks his third First-Team All-America selection this postseason and fifth overall, as he continues to garner national recognition for his explosive year at the plate.

The power-hitting third baseman delivered one of the most dominant offensive seasons in program history, batting .372 with 18 home runs and 84 RBIs. His RBI total ranks fifth all-time for a single season at Miami, while his 42 career home runs are tied for seventh in school history.

Cuvet saved his best for the final stretch, batting .472 over the last 15 games with 25 hits, seven doubles, six home runs, and 20 RBIs. He posted a .943 slugging percentage and .576 on-base percentage during that span.

In the postseason, Cuvet helped fuel Miami’s deep tournament run, earning Hattiesburg Regional MVP honors. He hit .385 with two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs, leading the Hurricanes to their first NCAA Super Regional appearance since 2016.

Known for his consistency, Cuvet tallied 26 multi-hit games and led the team with 22 multi-RBI performances. That included 10 games with three or more RBIs and two games with five or more.

Cuvet has also received First-Team All-America recognition from Baseball America and ABCA/Rawlings, along with Second-Team honors from Perfect Game and the NCBWA, cementing his place among the elite in college baseball.
