Prolific Prep, the Napa Valley–based boys basketball powerhouse, will relocate its entire operation to Fort Lauderdale for the 2025-26 academic year, the program announced. After 11 seasons at Napa Christian Academy, the Crew will open a “brand-new, state-of-the-art training facility in the heart of Fort Lauderdale,” according to the school’s official site, and will continue as a 100% scholastic program.
The move places Prolific Prep alongside Florida’s two dominant basketball academies—Montverde Academy and IMG Academy—intensifying competition among the nation’s top talent factories. Since its founding in 2014, Prolific Prep has appeared in ESPN’s top-25 high school rankings, produced nine NBA players (including Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green), and sent 14 athletes to the McDonald’s All-American Game.
Program officials cited Florida’s deep pipeline of prospects and its year-round tournament circuit as key factors in the decision. Fort Lauderdale hosts marquee events such as the City of Palms Classic, whose alumni include NBA stars Paolo Banchero and Cade Cunningham. The state also crowns a Florida Mr. Basketball each season, with recent winners like Cameron Boozer of Christopher Columbus High School underscoring Florida’s appeal to elite prospects.
The new Fort Lauderdale campus will feature multiple practice courts, academic classrooms, strength and conditioning amenities, and residential housing for student-athletes. Prolific Prep intends to maintain its rigorous academic partnership while leveraging Florida’s high school calendar to schedule games against national powers and participate in tournaments across the Southeast.
By joining this ecosystem, Prolific Prep cements Florida’s status as the epicenter of elite prep basketball, promising a new era of high-level competition in the Sunshine State.
Florida’s prep basketball scene has grown explosively in recent years. Programs such as Montverde and IMG have produced dozens of Division I stars and NBA draft picks, and events like the Nike EYBL circuit regularly showcase future college and professional talent. By moving east, Prolific Prep joins this competitive landscape, poised to deepen its recruiting reach, provide its players with more exposure, and compete against established Florida academies and high-performing high school programs such as Columbus, Montverde, IMG, and Calvary Christian Academy.
With its relocation, Prolific Prep not only solidifies Florida’s status as the epicenter of elite prep basketball but also sets the stage for fresh rivalries and heightened stakes across youth, high school, and college athletics in the Sunshine State.
